Development Description

The Fruitmarket Partnership are seeking planning permission from An Bord Pleanála for an urban regeneration, residential development in the Markets area of Dublin 7. The development proposal is based on the Shared Accommodation concept, providing co-living in apartment clusters. The ground floor of all blocks will accommodate shared amenity spaces, services and co-working areas for residents of the proposed development. Block A contains additional facilities such as a gym, workshop and studio space at first floor level. Blocks A, B and C are linked via an courtyard at ground floor level. Block A will form a new urban edge to Mary’s Lane and includes a café facing out towards the urban realm opposite the City Fruit and Vegetable Market. Block D will face on to the west side of St. Michan’s Park.

The proposed residential scheme is set out in 4 blocks. The entire scheme provides 360 bedrooms in 61 units, giving up to 506 bedspaces. The apartment clusters in Blocks A, B and C comprise 3, 5 and 6 bedroom units. Block D incorporates a variety of layouts of 6, 11, 19 and 20 bedrooms clusters. All bedrooms are designed to provide a generous level of accommodation in single, twin and accessible typologies.

Roost will operate and manage the Shared Accommodation/Co-Living community.
